We all experience "energy leaks" all the time and sometimes we aren't even aware of it! Energy leaks are moments where your energy is depleted due to various external and internal factors. This not only leaves you feeling drained but it can also impact the way you are showing up in the world. Understanding energy leaks and how to protect your energy field is crucial for maintaining balance and ensuring that what you are feeling on a day to day basis is actually YOUR own emotions.

Energy leaks occur when you lose your personal energy due to influences around you or within yourself. They can take many forms, including draining relationships/people, stressful or unsafe environments, even excessive screen time.

  1. Negative People: These are the glass is always half empty kind of people and they always seem to be constantly attracting negative situations and experiences. Spending time with people who constantly complain, gossip, bully or criticise can leave you feeling DRAINED and can actually cause you to start viewing the things in a negative light as well.


  2. Overcommitting and People Pleasing: Taking on too many tasks at work or in your personal life can lead to burnout. Also saying YES when you want to say NO or vice versa is a huge leak - you are giving away your power and abandoning self for someone else's benefit.


  3. Environmental factors: A messy space or a heavy, stressful and/or negative environment can really throw our energy out of whack. This one sounds super obvious but how many times have you entered a room and felt really on edge or uncomfortable and stayed anyway? Or if you've ever worked for a negative/toxic boss you will know how this feels all too well but I wonder how many times you then went home and cleansed/cleared your energy field?
